SUMMARY:
An established imports company, based in Johannesburg South, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong technical expertise and supervisory experience to join their finance team.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Full accounting function up to trial balance / management accounts
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- International reporting and reconciliations
- Management of foreign creditors and supplier reconciliations
- Forex transactions, exchange differences, and currency exposure review
- VAT submissions and statutory compliance
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Supervision, mentoring, and review of junior accounting staff
- Liaison with auditors, banks, and international suppliers
Requirements:
- BCom Accounting or similar qualification
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a senior accounting role
- Experience within an imports, distribution, or international trading environment advantageous
- Strong exposure to forex and foreign creditors
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
